Troubleshooting · Installing and updating
The installer is taking a long time
Short answer
Installing only takes a moment, so a long wait usually means macOS is waiting for you to answer its Documents prompt. Look for it, sometimes behind other windows, and click Allow.
Try this, in order
Look for the Documents prompt. macOS asks whether “node” can access files in your Documents folder. The install waits for your answer. Click Allow.
Give it two minutes. If nobody answers the prompt, the installer stops after about two minutes and explains what happened.
Click Try Again. It takes you back to the app list so you can install again.
Still stuck? Restart your Mac. After some Creative Cloud updates, Adobe’s plugin installer stops responding until the Mac restarts. Restart your Mac, then run the installer again.
