What does Cuddle put on my Mac?

Short answer

Cuddle installs four parts, all on your Mac: a plugin inside Premiere Pro, a background service, a connection for each AI app you chose, and a small helper app named Cuddle for Accessibility.

The four parts

  • A plugin in Premiere Pro. It starts with Premiere Pro and makes the edits, using Adobe’s own tools for plugins. You see it as the Cuddle panel.
  • A background service. It starts automatically at login and keeps every edit in order, one at a time. It also runs Cuddle’s Mac tools for audio analysis, frame checks, and masking.
  • A connection in each AI app. The installer adds Cuddle to the apps you chose, so your AI sees Cuddle’s tools and built-in skills.
  • A small helper app named Cuddle. It’s the only part that needs Accessibility, so it can press Premiere Pro’s multicam shortcuts and open Claude Desktop’s Settings during setup.

MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is the standard way AI apps connect to tools like Cuddle. The installer sets it up for you. Cuddle only talks to apps on the same Mac, so your AI app, Premiere Pro, and Cuddle all run together on one computer.
