Question · Privacy and permissions

Does my footage leave my Mac?

Short answer

No. Cuddle doesn’t upload your media, and there’s no Cuddle cloud. Your AI app receives what it asks for to do the edit, like transcripts and frames, under that app’s own privacy policy.

What stays on your Mac

  • Your media files and Premiere Pro projects stay on your Mac.
  • Audio analysis, frame checks, and masking all run on your Mac.
  • Premiere Pro makes transcripts on your Mac with its own Speech to Text.

What your AI app sees

To make an edit, your AI asks Cuddle for information: clip names, the words in a transcript, or a few frames from your timeline so it can check its work. Cuddle hands these to your AI app, and your AI app’s provider handles them under its own privacy policy.

Cuddle never sees your chat or your AI account. Your AI app sends Cuddle only what each edit needs, like which clip to trim.

Does Cuddle need the internet?

Cuddle does its own work on your Mac, so editing, transcripts, audio analysis, and masking don’t need the internet. Your AI app usually does, to reach its AI service. Cuddle also goes online to check for updates.
