Cuddle isn’t working. Where do I start?

Short answer

Check four things in order: the Cuddle panel says Connected, Premiere Pro is open with your project, your AI app was restarted after install, and the message your AI shows. Most problems show up in one of these.

Check these, in order

  1. Look at the Cuddle panel. It should say Connected. If it says Disconnected, start there.

    1. Window
    2. UXP Plugins
    3. Cuddle
    4. Cuddle
  2. Make sure Premiere Pro is open with your project. Cuddle works in the Premiere Pro that’s running. If your AI says No Premiere bridge is connected, Premiere Pro isn’t open, or Cuddle’s plugin hasn’t connected yet.

  3. Restart your AI app and start a new chat. AI apps load Cuddle when they start. See what to do if your AI can’t see Cuddle.

  4. Read the message your AI shows. Cuddle explains why it stopped, and your AI passes that on. Look for the same words in Troubleshooting, or ask Bear with the exact message.

Common messages

  • No Premiere bridge is connected: open Premiere Pro, then check that the Cuddle panel says Connected.
  • Operation … timed out: Premiere Pro took too long to finish. Ask your AI to try again.
  • Unsupported on host or Host does not advertise capability: your version of Premiere Pro doesn’t offer that feature. Update Premiere Pro.
  • The requested project is not active: switch to that project in Premiere Pro, then ask again.
