How does music analysis work?
Short answer
On macOS 27 or newer, Cuddle’s music analysis tells your AI where the beats, bars, and song sections are, plus the tempo, key, loudness, pace, and which instruments are playing. It all runs on your Mac.
What your AI can do with it
- Cut on the beat or at the start of a bar
- Change scenes when the song changes sections
- Find where dialogue can sit between vocals
- Match the energy of the edit to the music
Good to know
- Music analysis needs macOS 27 or newer. Breath detection and frequency analysis work on every supported Mac.
- It runs on your Mac. Long files take a few minutes the first time.
- Results are kept, so the same file is instant next time, in any project.
- To free up the space, click Clear Cache in Cuddle’s Settings panel.
- Your AI may call Cuddle’s audio analysis “the cuddleizer.” It’s the part of Cuddle that listens to audio on your Mac.
